About the Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 package spaghetti noodles

  • 1 lbs. ground venison

  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped

  • 15 ounces tomato sauce

  • 6 ounces tomato sauce

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, adjust to taste

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

  • 1 cup of water

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Optional: parmesan and basil leaves for serving

Tip: If you prefer a stronger beef flavor add 1 beef bullion cube when cooking ground venison

Preparation

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti noodles according to package.

Step 2

In a large skillet add ground venison and chopped onion, season with salt and pepper. Stir frequently to break up ground venison. When venison is browned and onions are translucent, drain excess grease.

(Optional: add beef bullion cube with onions and venison and cook)

Step 3

Return venison and onions to heat. Add tomato paste, tomato sauce, sugar, parsley, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, crushed red pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine.

Step 4

Bring sauce to a boil. Add water while stirring.

Step 5

Reduce heat and simmer for about 25 minutes. Add optional parmesan and basil leaves and serve
