Dove Poppers

Our favorite way to cook dove

Ingredients

  • 1 package cream cheese

  • Jarred sliced jalapenoes, mild or hot

  • 1 lbs. of bacon

  • 10 -15b whole dove breasts

  • Allegros

Preparation

*If using toothpicks, soak them for at least 10 min before use to prevent burning

Step 1


Slice breast off the bone and place in a medium bowl. Add Allegros to the dove poppers until almost fully submerged and marinate for 15-20 min.



Step 2


Preheat grill to 350 degrees



Step 3


Cut bacon strips in half and lay in a single layer across a plate. Soften cream cheese in microwave for 15 seconds. Spread softened cream cheese ( approx. 1 tablespoon, or to liking) across one end of the halved bacon strip. Place a sliced jalapeno on cream cheese and top with a dove breast.

( No need to drain or dry dove breast when removing from marinade)



Step 4


Starting at the end of the bacon with the dove meat, tightly roll up and secure the end with skewer or toothpick.


Step 5


Grill until bacon is completely cooked. Remove and serve
